Boring? Who are you people?

I don't understand how people can say that Omaha is "boring" or much of anything bad about the city. It has tons of big and small concert and play venues, including one of the best, fastest-growing local music scenes in the country and the largest community playhouse in the country, one of the best zoos in the country (one magazine even ranked it the #1 Family attraction--above DisneyWorld and DisneyLand), nice people, little traffic, cheap homes compared to any city that could be considered "major," an excellent historical downtown area, more good restaurants per capita than just about any city, family-oriented activities such as free outdoor concerts and Shakespeare plays in the summer, fireworks displays in July and on New Years, and "family days" where you can get into the Western Heritage, Children's, and Joslyn Art museums for free, no casinos to bring in the white trash from Council Bluffs, several excellent state parks within 30 minutes, including Mahoney State Park (rated in the top 50 state parks in the US), low crime rate, a booming economy, good schools, an excellent Interstate/highway system that makes it fast and easy to get across town, I could go on till I'm blue in the face. People, if you think Omaha is boring, then you must be blind and deaf.
As for the weather, I'm sorry that Nebraska actually has four seasons. Claims that we have long, frigid winters are completely unfounded. There's usually only a few weeks out of the year that it's actually cold (i.e. when the high temperature is below freezing), and it's not uncommon to have 60 degree days in December. I will admit that the weather is quirky (that's the midwest for you), but I think it's kind of funny and amazing that it can be 80 degrees one day in February and then snow 3 inches 4 days later. I like variety. Bottom line, Omaha is a nice little city that's going places. Hop on before you get run over.
