It's the Midwest for better or worse

I lived in Omaha for 22 years before moving to San Diego. The move was probably the best thing I did in my life. I personally can't stand the Midwest with the exception of Chicago and the West Coast is much more my style and climate. I do have a new appreciation for Omaha than before. I can see the positives and negatives more clearly than before. Positives are that people are more genuine and honest in Omaha. However, naive, hard headed and simple minded are also qualities most people have as well. Cost of living is quite lower in Omaha, but you also get less in return. Taxes are so high you almost feel as if you break even. There are plenty of things to do in Omaha like the zoo, old market, and some events. However, it gets rather boring after a while. The landscape is dull and depressing, and the weather is hard to predict. Some people love Omaha and think it's the holy grail to a good life. I've heard many tell me I'll move back eventually. Sorry to burst their bubble, but I've never been happier than being out of Omaha.
