What more could you ask for. As stated elsewhere, there are plenty of great activities in Omaha, and I suspect that two of the other comments are fairly old. Omaha has recently added a new convention center, and a new performing arts center, and both are tremendous venues for great performances. The downtown is booming, with hundreds of housing units being added on a near-monthly basis. Schools are excellent, with neighborhood elementary schools, and magnet middle and high schools. Besides all of the great attractions, and living opportunities, Omaha is pretty much a 20 minute town. You can get almost anywhere from the center of the city that quickly. In the 20 years I've lived here (85 to 05) there has never been a significant slowdown in the economy, the town has grown substantially, and the amenities have multiplied. The airport is 5 minutes from downtown, and very quick to get through, and Omaha sits on Interstates 80 and 29 so its an easy travel hub. the weather may not be ideal year round, but It's really no worse than Chicago or Minneapolis. There really are only two shortcomings to Omaha - no ocean and no mountains.
