Got out as soon as I could

I escaped Comaha after ten years of living here because of the ultra prudish and closed-minded class of people that live in this town. The town is catered to about 30 people that are millionaires and are able to use the things like Qwest Center, the pork-spending bridge, the unnecessary baseball stadium or one of the other frivilous things that gets built here (Midtown Crossing, Aksarben Village, take your pick.) While these things go up, the roads (beware of car-killing potholes), schools, basic public needs and more get neglected. There's a reason why Omaha is in debt as I write this. The weather sucks. It's too cold and snowy to do anything in the winter and too humid and hot to do anything in the summer. The things there are to do here get old very quickly. Austin, where I moved to, is like paradise in comparison. You can actually do stuff in the winter and the people have thoughts of their own, not ones just passed down from their parents. When your biggest claim is that you are the hometown to Warren Buffet, you know you're in trouble.
