Hot - better than cold. Bad roads? Have you been to Michigan? No culture? Phoenix is a great blend of cowboy meets California. Real estate costs to high? Sure they are high, but look at the population - It had to happen sometime. Crime? Try staying out of the GHETTO! Overall cost of living? Pretty average. Commute? Live near your work. (If you work in Avondale, do not live in Mesa) As for the city not being New York or Chicago stylr? Well I have not been to NY, but Chicago is an armpit, as is Detroit and Cleveland. As far as education goes, public education sucks everywhere and it is not going to get better. Try a charter school or move to Sottsdale. Did I miss anything? Good.
