Plusses and minuses like everywhere

No place is perfect.
Weather is great 8 months of the year. Yes summer is hot, however just think of it as your winter anywhere else. You're basically on a reverse schedule from most of the country.
Sprawl is large, so it can be difficult to meet people b/c all your fellow workers scatter to all sides of the valley.
Cost of living is good, however the job market here pays very poorly, so if you have a good paying job you're kind of trapped b/c you most likely find the equivalent.
Traffic isn't that bad. It's like any other big city. Rush hour it's busy and non rush hour you can get around just fine.
Lots of illegals, though not as many as you'd think as they tend to goto California for all their benefits.
Not a walkable city, though they are trying to build up a city core along w/ the public transit.
You don't really know your neighbors as they always just go in their garage and shut the door. There's a lack of community. Can be very generic.
Airport is solid, though since AA is basically removing it as a hub it's not as good as it used to be.
You can be in LA, SD and Vegas quickly. Also Salt Lake for skiing and Colorado. So central location is good w/ lots of options.
State has a diverse terrain, so you can escape the heat on weekends and drive north for two hours and it's 20 degrees cooler.
