Review of Phoenix, Arizona

Phoenix sucks!
Star Rating - 7/6/2007
I have lived in several U.S. cities, which have all had their pluses and minuses. The Phoenix area is, by far, the worst city to live in. It is very dusty and dirty, overcrowded and terribly hot. The average I.Q. of the residents has to be under 100. Contractors never keep appointments; and when they do, half the time they do a poor job. Houses are not selling because many were bought by investors that don't even live here, and many residents cannot afford the subprime loans they took out. City services such as police and fire are seriously lacking. The average wait time in an emergency room is well over 6 hours because all the illegal aliens use it as their primary physician. Traffic is a nightmare. Drivers here are crazy and serious accidents occur routinely. 40% or more of the all drivers here are uninsured. People in Scottsdale (Snottsdale) are full of themselves. Culture? Fuhgettaboutit. Not happening here. There is very little public transportation. Many of the people working in retail cannot speak English. There are very few good ethnic restaurants. The public education system is one of the worst 5 in the country. There is a void of leadership from the top down, starting with the governor. Scorpions, black widows and snakes frequent many neighborhoods. The meth epidemic here is out of control. Phoenix is the divorce capital of the country. Young women emulate Paris Hilton and Brittany Spears. On top of that, there aren't even any pretty mountains, lakes or beaches to look at. Just dirty, brown desert landscape filled with smog. And the people. Oh my God, they are more rude than New York! Need I say more? I could go on and on. I am getting out of here as soon as possible and if you are smart, you will too!

I too have lived in many citys, states, and countrys and this IS the worst by far. I'm sorry but the traffic IS as bad if not worse than Los Angeles ( yes I've lived there too ), the drivers are the worst in the country ( I drove a truck cross country for many years and through most states ) they are THE slowest and most dangerous drivers I have seen anywhere. There is absolutely no soul / culture here whatsoever, just never ending strip malls, the heat in summer is just ridiculous, traffic as bad as L.A. plus heat of death valley, sound nice ? The sheriff's insane, the most controversial in the country and has even attracted the attention of amnesty international regarding jail conditions. A HUGE part of the population are either senior citizens, far right wingers, rednecks, midwesterners, or all of the above. There are nazi speed cameras all over the roads and freeways............I could go on but I think that's enough, don't you ? Advice.............drive through this area as fast as possible and try not to hurt your eyes looking at it as you do because it is downright ugly.

Tell it like it is brother. Phoenix is a big pile of you know what. It's just a waste of space....meth heads everywhere, a repeat of every single block....its like OK there's a circle k, oh crap there another circle k. This place has the trashy food ever. Most of the people suck, and all they say is...do you have any drugs, or do you want to buy any drugs. They are like zombies here, no goal, but to get high. Oh you never know what city your in, because it all looks the same. The heat, holymacarol...you could fry a egg on your seat belt..your car is like microwave. I don't care if my grammars off, i posted this in a rush. Oh and all surrounding areas such as peoria, glendale, heck they suck too....its still just crappy phoenix, no city here looks any different. I can't wait to get out of this pit of crap they call a city.

I was born here in Phoenix and i have lived here all my life, i could agree with a lot of what you say and i do agree that it Isn't an ideal place to live anymore, it actually used to be really nice and beleive it or not it was even a bit cooler in years past. the problems came around when people like you started moving in and getting in three car accidents a year (thats ridicules, i have never been in an accident or even had a close call and i have been driving in this city for 14 years)also the huge invasion of illegal immigrants have come here to mow the lawns of idiots who come here from wetter climates and foolishly insist on trying to make phoenix a green place even though we live in the sonoran desert. if you actually get off your lazy ass and go for a hike you would see our ugly brown mountains are actually quite beautiful, just because things arent covered in grass and trees doesnt make them ugly. we used to have some beautiful places to go all around the city but people like you have come in thinking our desert as a wasteland with no value and built your houses on top of amazing geography and ancient native american ruins, it is 15 degrees hotter now because of all the expansion and we no longer get the rains in the monsoon season within the city because the sprawl puts up a heat wall and all the storms go around us, i remember sitting and watching storms roll in and rain come down so heavily that you couldnt even see 10 feet, we used to have a dozen storms like this every summer, now were lucky to get one.i think its funny that you talk about how dumb people here are when you are un able to see the reality behind why this city is not so great anymore, it would be like finding a beautiful island, chopping down all its trees turning it into a trash dump the writing a blog about what a wretched little island it is, you helped destroy it! i do hope you move away and never return because you and all the other idiots who swarmed over here have destroyed this valley and made it truly a bad place to live,it will never be the same, thanks for helping to ruin my home.
