Do Not Buy a House Here

I have to respond to some of the reviews here which are generally too optimistic. The retirees and natives paint a different picture of what's really happening in Phoenix.
Arizona is a right to work state, which means it generally suffers from its employers paying low wages. This wasn't a problem until the past few years when the great migration out of California began and inflated the cost of housing in Arizona to unsustainable levels. Nowadays, the nicer areas of the Metro area are far too expensive to buy in.
I noticed that there's a real lack of focus on education in Phoenix. People lack both common sense and book smarts. In fact, it might be frightening for anyone from the Midwest or especially the East Coast, which tend to have great schools. Instead, people tend to focus on their image, whether it be tattoos or huge wheels on their monster truck/SUV.
I live in a nice area about a block from downtown Scottsdale. What's amazing is that 2 houses within a hundred yards of my door are going into foreclosure. At this rate, I expect to see a foreclosure on nearly every 10 houses within the next year or two. Save yourself a hundred thous, and DO NOT BUY ANYTHING until prices hit 00-01 levels.
