Four Years is Enough

I moved here 4 years ago and Phoenix definitely isn't what I thought. There is a seemingly huge lack of culture and open-mindedness. The thing that shocked me most when I moved here is the lack of diversity among people. There really isn't that much to do in the area. Of course, you can find things, but you really have to search if you want to do something other than go to the bar. The heat - yes, it is hot. No, it doesn't matter that it is a dry heat. The only difference that makes is that I now have extremely dry skin that no amount of lotion can cure. The summers are exhausting because of the heat and makes it unbearable. The weather the rest of the year is absolutely beautiful though. The air quality and smog are horrible. The school systems are not good and crime is bad (as proven by the 2 serial killers/rapists we have had in the area since I moved here.) Of course, there are a lot of people that absolutely love Phoenix but they are usually native Phoenicians. I have come to wonder that if they have this love for Phoenix just because they don't know any better.
