Phoenix Public Transportation

I moved to Arizona 15 years ago from Los Angeles and have never seen such a poor public transportation system. I know the build of the new Metro Rail might help, but, sitting in the 110+ heat at a bus stop for 30 minutes is kind of riduculous. Some of the bus stops don't even have a covering or even a seat to sit down. I've also had to walk 3 miles due to the buses don't got to North Glendale. The city tries to promote people to take public transportation, but, the wait is too long. Los Angeles buses ran every 10 minutes and I can go the 30 miles in just a little over an hour. I rode the bus in Los Angeles even though I had a car because I saved an hour on my commute by bus! Traffic was extremely heavy. I live in Arrowhead Ranch (North Glendale) and used to work in Tempe and had to leave my home at 3:45 AM to get to work by 7:00 AM. On the way home, I would leave at 3:30 PM and sometimes didn't get home until 9:00 PM due to the bus connections were missed due to one bus was late and the other left early or sometimes never showed up. When I left the job in Tempe, I was so happy because my current job is only 10 minutes from home by car and 1 hour by bus and my boss & I carpooled before I bought a new car. Since I bought an car with good gas mileage, I only have to fill it up every 2 - 2 1/2 weeks. It's worth paying more for gas for the convenience.
