I'm a native Phoenician (50+years) and have lived in Calif, Florida, Alabama, and visited many other cities. Although those were all nice places, none of them compare to Phoenix. The only real negative to Phoenix is the heat but that's really only horrible for 3 months the other 9 months are great AND...during those bad 3 months - you just stay in air conditioning or water and that's easy to do. Just like living in heavy snow areas - you survive by stockpiling fuel for fires and buy tools like snow blowers & remote car starters to survive the winters. The difference is - our 3 months vs those 4 to 6 months. We're an easy 6hr drive from the ocean in San Diego or Mexico and about the same to Las Vegas. We are within 2 to 4 hrs of great snow skiing. What's not to love?????
