Review of Phoenix, Arizona

how nearsighted some are
Star Rating - 11/22/2009
I've lived in numerous places in the USA and the East Valley area is still my favorite. Of course a large metro area like Phoenix will have problems. So does every other city in the country. If you don't like lots of problems, live in one of the terrific suburbs such as Gilbert, Queen Creek, Chandler, East Mesa, etc. I lived there for years, never had any problems, and loved the great weather. So the summeis hot. At least it's dry. I cannot stand the 90 degree temps along with 60-70% humidity in many other sities. To me it feels much worse than 105-110 with 15% or so humidity. Phoenis metro has lots of great places to eat and shop, many community theaters and other arts venues, excellent medical facilities, and it is only 45 minutes to an hour to the mountains. Not too far from San Diego or Las Vegas either. Those who don't like it there, please move the heck out so I can come down and buy a couple of homes for my retirement and family. My 3 kids all lvoe the place.

Are you kidding? Gilbert's too far out, and Queen Creek and east Mesa are even further than that. And all you discuss are the temperatures. So how about the general quality of life in Phoenix? Quality of education available in public schools? Availability of decent-paying jobs post-housing bubble? How's the future look with water usage and increasing APS/SRP bills? You sound like a delusional boomer. Luckily, there seems to be a lot of your type here, so you'll fit in great. Oh yeah, there's over 30,000 unsold properties in metro Phoenix, so you'll have a huge selection of tract homes to choose from.

Gee Joel, if Phoenix was so great, why did you move to Cincinnati? You must have seen the light! Lol!
