I moved here from the San Diego area about 25 yrs ago. I only intended to stay a couple years (job transfer). Back then San Diego was much larger and much more to do...now, Phoenix has gained on San Diego and I am glad I stayed. Sure, there is the big city traffic and crime, but much better airport, more centrally located to other destinations, the cost of living is lower, easier to get around in, and much easier to get laid, that in San Diego.
