Texarkana is a typical East Texas city. Conservative, but a nice place to raise a family. With Texas A & M Texarkana there, you now can complete your college education. The city is booming, take a drive down I-30. No, it will not ever be a Dallas or Houston, but it will continue to grow at a slow pace.
