I went to college in Pittsburgh, and I loved it there! Granted there are some rough areas, just like any city. However overall I felt safe. It's a big city with a small town feel. I will say this though, downtown after 6pm was a ghost town! This may have changed, but when I went to AIP in the 90's after 6 it was like this. We used to kid that it was the city that liked to sleep ;)
