Pittsburgh Stay Away

The economy and job market is the worst in the nation.
educaiton in the area is well below average according to state records. Out of a possible 10 (highest) a majority of schools are actually rated below 4. Politics are unbelieveable and corruption is rampant in the municipal ande county governments. Nepotism is the worst I have ever seen, after living in 9 states and 4 countries. People still talk of the "Steel" days and high pay. Teachers are paid the third highest in the nation among states and still complain about salaries. Teachers in the area have gone on more strikes than any other teachers union in the United States. Compounding the poor quality of life is excess pollution, a high degree of un-education, and a generally beligerant attitude among the average person. Of course, the area is very good in sports. It fits the general countenance of the people. Do not be deceived. Pittsburgh, and in general Western Pennsylvania is one of the worst places in the world to live. I have lived here as a Dr. for over 11 years and thank God we are leaving.
