Review of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Economy vs. Employment
Star Rating - 6/25/2008
Living in Pittsburgh many times I must report that the economy, cost of living and employment is going through a great clash. Many existing companies have folded and moved out of the area completely. Occupations have been limited down to marketing and sales which is really hipocritical considering business is slow and nothing is taking hold.

The county taxes are ridiculous and continue to rise for know reason but for government profit so they can invest into more self developed business for more.

They have also sold themselves to foreign investors which is leading to more unemployment. Personaly I have three degrees in Visual Communications and Fine Arts yet I'm disabled. Though I received some finacial assistance when it came for job placement assistance none was provided. When submiting a job to my counselours they deny it stating it doesn't meet to their standards and it requires investigation which doesn't take place.

Because of my disability which is Epilepsy I can't drive. The county has a transportation system for the elderly and disabled yet when I applied it was misplaced and ignored. It is denied many times for people who have my disability. They say if I can climb up the stairs then I can take a bus ignoring the severity of seizures and the effects. Furthermore the bus stop is 5 miles away which requires walking on they highway.

It must be added that the crime rate is increasing more and the neighborhoods are fed up yet the law does little to prevent or address it. There is arson, murder, gang related crimes, drug dealing etc and it is spreading to the suburbs. The sale of many houses and other forms of real estate is increasing with no purchases. People are relocating to other counties for lower costs and taxes.

It is hard to think of anything positive I welcome rebuke.
