Review of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Pittsburgh-Animal House
Star Rating - 6/10/2006
Pittsburgh, a la Western PA is a habitat for the uneducated, rude, ignorant, and laziest people in the world. Having lived in nine states and four countries and spending too many years in Pittsbrugh area I left. The schools are atrocious (many have a ratung of 2); people tend to be beligerant and difficult to wrork with; cost of housing is high compared to the quality of the house in construction and finishing; teacher's are paid in the top three of all the states and students graduate in the bottom 25%; corruption in government is rampant-nepotism is very common and extreme; roads are extremely poor and poorly maintained; pollution is very high and cancer rates are in the top 15% in the country; taxes are high since government payrolls are among the highest in the country. Since 1984 the population in the Pittsburgh area and student enrollment has decreased by nearly 50%; there is no economic growth and both UPMC and Univ. Pittsbrugh are behind the times by a decade in teaching and treatment awareness; the local nuclear power plant is a notorious emitter of nitrogen oxides, radiation, carbon monoxide and particulate emissions and the state neglects adequate control due to limited manpower. This is not a plact to move, but a place to move from. Anyone contmeplating moving to this area with a family would be better to consider Iraq.
