I am amazed everyday that this city functions at all. While the suburban areas outside of the Portland City limits offer great family living, with year around snow cap mountains, wonderful ocean beaches only just an hour away in either direction all too sadly sooner or later you will have to go into the city. Once there it is a battle ground between militant cyclist who dare you to use the city streets, within with workplace there is always a raging battle between the Democrats and Conservatives who own all the successful businesses/corporations; and neither will have nothing to do with the narrow minded Republicans, plus in the dating world if you cannot prove that you are a card carrying PC TruBluLiberal you will be kicked to the curb in NYC heartbeat. Everything is all based upon your party politics and if you are not in the IN-CROWD, you actually may not even be given a raise at work. The only clear way that I can best describe the general atmosphere in Portland is to compare it to the deep south during the worst part of our nations racial history. No conservatives are not made to use separate bathrooms … etc. yet, but by the same token they are cut out of local policy making, the victims of dirty politics in general and are regularly subjected to lawsuits that are not equally aimed toward the Liberal elite as well.
Unfortunately Portland has suffered as a result of the situation and many businesses/corporations have either moved out of the area, a crossed the Columbia River to Vancouver, WA or even away to ID, UT and of all things, even back to California where the local political environment is actually more equal. Believe it or not, there is even a local BooHoo group who openly chants … “Don’t let the door slap you on the butt on your way out of the state”. Yes... at one time it was popular to be anti-Californian guy or gal and we used to lightheartedly make fun of them too. However now, if you are foolish enough to put a conservative bumper sticker on your car you can expect to have your paint keyed (scraped) in a parking lot within a matter of hours. If you are crazy enough to put a conservative political sign, banner … etc. on your front lawn you can expect for it to be torn down and some sort of damage done to your home or property in the process too … the lists go on and on, and there really is not much that can be done as it seems that following the law is “again” only for others; not Liberals, to do while the Mayor himself spent $250,000 in limited tax payer’s dollars to build a illegal day laborer job center, with great pride the City of Portland openly refuses to work within any manner with the Department of Home Land Security and the beat goes on and on. While these facts are openly talked about, are published for all to see to include another Portland’s sister in Eugene, Oregon takes great pride in openly allowing their illegals to vote in all general elections and in-between those two cities; in Salem, Oregon Gov. Teddy K. has freely allowed 150,000 Mexicans to receive Oregon Driver Licenses, so that they can apply for welfare, free college benefits and tax payer paid healthcare too. Again … the lists go on and on, and now you can make up your own mind too, but I advise that all conservatives might want to look elsewhere when looking for a good solid workforce, a positive family environment and/or a place to retire.
