so i lived in portland till i was 13, moved to cincinnati, oh (come here for unbeautiful) and have traveled all over the US and have seen many cities, and Portland still sits at the top of the list for beautiful cities. i dont know of many other cities that can boast two mountains visible in the skyline, but that says something. the artistic side of portland is very evident with a simple walk around downtown. how about the public parks? try cathedral park in north portland, or washington park INTERNATIONAL ROSE GARDEN! HOW ABOUT THE JAPANESE GARDEN? did you notice the two rivers? where was this guy hanging out?? also, to the guy that was talking about all the transplants, where did you live before 1989? a transplant is a transplant, no matter how long they've been there...
