A Charming city

i don't know why the last user says this is such an unbeautiful city.
It has a decent skyline, esp. against the Wilamette River, that has some very traditional, european-pretty architecture mixed in with some modern styles. Eclectic like the city vibe. I agree very much that for a major city, Portland has a charming "town" feeling. it's so easy to get around and a comfortable city to adapt to.
The bldgs aren't tall, but that's because the city is adamant in keeping the view of Mt Hood clearly visible.
