Conservative Prescott

My wife and I both retired from California. I retired from a law enforcement career and my wife was a teacher. We are both very conservative, I more than my wife. We love the conservative culture here and feel right at home. Conservative people tend to believe in freedom, limited government, and Judeo Christian beliefs. They are usually not drug abusers, criminals, or homeless. Although some Presconians are first put off when they hear we are from California, most are friendly and tolerant of all people. But we see what's happened in California and other liberal states and don't want that to happen here. If you have a dislike for conservative people, then please move to another area. I have to wonder why you did not know the conservative culture of Prescott before moving here.

Prescott was my hometown of nearly 30 years. While it's always been a bit on the conservative side, there's been an extreme shift. There used to be more room for differing opinions and grace for those who thought differently. This review is highlighting the ever growing shift in Prescott and sadly America - the inability to tolerate differences and have healthy discourse. While this was my hometown... I'm being driven out from it because of Californians driving up housing rates and many are more conservative than I realized, leaving no room for any difference of opinion. May you have the grace, kindness and fortitude to treat others with the love, honor and respect that the Judeo-Christian beliefs were rooted in. (In case you were wondering, I'm not a drug abuser, criminal or homeless... and yet, moderately liberal.)

Fled from living 'the California-Nightmare', in '93, & moved to North Idaho. For health reasons had to leave 20 yrs later & moved to beautiful Prescott, AZ,,, 'tis a great place to be. All done moving! As for the former 'Golden State',,, forgetaboutit.

California Liberals are like Virus infected gnats. They destroy anywhere the move to. I was a Conservative Californian as well. Not everyone out there is a brain dead sheep. Had to leave. The idiocy was beyond comprehension. We are looking at the Prescott area as well. Wanting to escape Hellinois. (Nearly as bad as CA). Glad you found a home you feel comfortable in. We may become neighbors.. :)
