Review of San Jose, California

Crime is overrated in this area
Star Rating - 11/20/2008
I have lived in this area for 26 years and have a different experience with the crime rate than what I would expect with the rating of this site. Greater San Jose is a very large area and has a wide diversity of economic demographics from the lowest to among the highest within Santa Clara county.

This Zip code is tiny for San Jose, having a population of only 12,000 in a city of almost a million. It is part of the best school district in San Jose, the Mooreland School district and as such is a very desirable neighborhood to live in. Other than a one mile stretch of Hamilton avenue, most of the housing consists of single family houses.

Back to my initial point: in 26 years I personally know of NO instances of violent crime as defined by this site. I regularly leave my house unlocked when I'm out during the day and again have never had a problem.

Bottom line; I don't know where this site gets its statistics but I strongly disagree with the rating given to this neighborhood for violent crime.
