A view from a Californian

Some pros and cons of moving to Southern Utah. Among many natives you might be regarded as "those Californians" whether your from there or not. You might also be refered to as the reason for everything evil from housing prices to low paying jobs. Most folks are very nice. But there often is a culture clash of Little House on the Prarie meets Anahiem. I often think of St. George as Barstow striking gold and steroids at the same time. It doesn't appear much planning is being done and it shows. The weather is like the lower desert of California because it is the desert. Mesquite and Vegas are not very far away but not much else when it's 110. It is a very Mormon dominated state and it may or may not be outwardly apparent depending on what your planning. You certainly won't find anything remotely resembling corner liquor stores with Playboy type magazines or bright nightclubs. It's an interesting place and if you keep in mind the world your in you will probably like it.
