born and raised in toledo, while I dont think it is a bad place to raise a family, I think it is a horrible place to plan your future. Economy is constantly struggling and the jobs seem harder to find than ever. Very blue collar, it seems the only good jobs are in one of the auto plants, good luck getting one. I question the logic of city management, last year they wanted to lay off about 70 police and fire workers due to budget restraints, yet our crosswalks in the downtown area which were perfectly fine were being replaced with a decorative brick to improve the look of the city ????
If you are considering a move to the area, secure a job beforehand and look for housing in the suburbs (sylvania, holland, perrysburg, monclova etc.)
