If you only visited the Capitol on that middle school trip, there is so much more to see, do and experience in metro DC.

Tour the museums at your leisure--remember most of them are free! On Memorial Day Weekend, witness Rolling Thunder--thousands of veterans on motorcycles--as they parade from their holding place at the Pentagon down to the Mall, the site of memorials to World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the world-renown Wall-a tribute to the veterans of the Vietnam War.

Along the Tidal Basin take time to discover the FDR Memorial, a 7 acre multi-site, with bronze statues of the President, Mrs. Roosevelt and even his dog, Fala.

Besides the Mall, DC has several neighborhoods, each with a complement of restaurants, sights and museums.
