Beauty In a Small Town!

I live in Alabama, but spent several years in the Portland, Michigan area.
Portland is an amazingly beautiful town on two rivers. The town has an awesome walking trail around the city, restaurants on the water, quaint and beautiful churches and homes. It's about as picturesque as a postcard, it's located conveniently between Lansing and Grand Rapids, and as charming as anyplace I've ever seen-and I have been to 20 countries around the globe and almost every state in America. This is a perfect place to live. We only left the area because aging bones and cold weather don't mix well.
I always had early morning coffee with my best friend and then prayer-walked the town around the walking trails, across the beautiful old bridge, under a misty morning fog and halo-shrouded street lights, to light our path......I MISS that!
