Quality of Education

I live and work in Euclid and send my kids to private schools. I would not consider sending my kids to Euclid H.S. for the following reasons. First, The Administration (Board of Education, Superintendent, and Principals)do not hold the students accountable for their actions. Second, The teachers are overwhelmed with the lack of respect the students have for anyone in authority. Third, anyone visiting Euclid H.S. would be appalled at the number of students walking the halls after the bell to be in class has rung. Even 5, 10, and 15 minutes after the student was required to be in class, several walk the halls going unchallenged by the hall monitors. These students are occasionlly stopped, written up and sent to the principals office. The principals are inundated with numerous delinquent students requiring the principal to spent an enormous amount of time counselling these youths. The parents are called and the first thing out of the parents mouth is "my child wouldn't do that". These are the same parents that don't actively participate in the education of their children ie. attend parent teacher conferences, open house, etc. The trash left in the halls on the floor is disgraceful. Everyday the security officers have to break up a fight. Public schools in this city have become a warehouse baby sitting operation. Over all the reason I chose to send my kids to private school was safety. I feel my kids are safer at a private school.
