Review of Denison, Texas

Rural small-town mentality
Star Rating - 11/13/2007
Denison is not far removed from the old west cowboy culture. Jeans, boots and baseball hats are the dress for everything. The downtown area closes at 5 p.m. Road signs are targets for passing pick-up trucks. Lost or abandoned pets are caged for three days, then killed. We've lived here 6 years and are just discovering how deep-rooted the good-old-boy culture remains. It may seem quaint for a few years, but don't expect much progress if you stay.
