Crime Rate
Star Rating - 5/23/2010
I've lived in Lincoln Village for quite some time now. Used to live here as a child. Moved back into the area when my daughter was 5. We have lived here ever since she was in kindergarten. She is now 11 and graduating from 6th grade. When we first moved to the area it was quiet and peaceful for about the first 3 maybe 4 years. I've noticed that ever since they did the change over on the Cascades (formerly known as Village East) and made them more affordable living the riff raff rate started to get higher. I am now no longer livin in those apartments because it started to get bad. From cops pullin cars over in the complex and the suspects running pass my daughter as she goes to take the trash out, and they have a gun in their hands. To drive by shootings and windows to apartments facing the street getting shot out. Now most recent in those apartments was a murder just last week. Understandable that you get what you pay for, but why should us hard working single parents have to live where we can't allow our children to grow and have normal adolescent lives. I have now banned my daughter from going to those apartments to play with her friends, friends she has known for years and grew up with. I moved across the street because I couldn't find anything else in my price range and to be able to keep her at her school. Now that she is graduating I do plan to move from this area because IT'S NOT A GOOD AREA TO LIVE IN. The statistics are right about this place. Crime is high and the riff raff is horrible. If you drive down Lincoln Village and pay attention to The Cascades entrance you will notice young kids sitting on the brick walls. Some are drug dealers others are pimps. Yes, pimps at that young an age. There are young girls in the neighborhood who are pimpin out other young girls. They make them feel special and cool than they drug them up and pimp them out. I know because some of them have told me about what they do. Another reason why I don't allow my child to go over there. She is very pretty and they would love to do the same to her. I haven't been able to move because everything is to expensive as a single one income home. Hopefully something soon will change and I can make the move I need to, to keep my child safe and watch her future continue to flourish.
