Review of Greensboro, North Carolina

Great Place for Families and College Kids!!
Star Rating - 9/6/2022
I have lived in Greensboro for almost 30 years. Moved here in the 8th grade from Long Beach California. We literally fell in love with this great state and Greensboro in particular is so dear to my heart. I have grown up here and raised my kids here. Went to college here and had the time of MY LIFE!!! If you are young and love all different types of people... Greensboro is the place!

Its a total college and family town. We have somewhere tons of colleges in the area and thats is what we are known for (and our beautiful parks). UNCG, Greensboro College, Guilford College is a Quaker writing school world renowned, Guilford Community College, A&T Aggie Pride is a thing yall! Plenty of college kids and plenty of cheap places to rent that wont be found on zillow.

This town is quite safe... if you are a female just look out for yourself in the clubs is all I can say... The weather is pretty great.. a beautiful 4 seasons of which none of them last very long. It will get into the 90s during the summer but we have mountain lakes to cool off in or rivers at every turn.

The winters are mild here and only occasionally do we see single digit temperatures. Oak Ridge, Kernersville, Mebane, Colfax, Rural Hall are all great smaller areas within ten minutes of town.

Ive made life long friends in this town and there is always something to do. The city is great about hosting events and our downtown is simply adorable. With a huge city center park and a splash pad for the summer. Everywhere is dog friendly downtown. Boxcar arcade bar is so fun... roof top bars are a thing here too and outdoor seating at Natty Greene's next to the train tracks is my favorite little spot to enjoy a beer and brunch! Summer solstice here is a beautiful celebration and they do tea lantern lightings in the summer ...just fun stuff for kids everywhere. The childrens museum in Greensboro and Winston are unmatched yall! We have rednecks, liberals, black people, Asians, Lumbee Indians this place is smack dad in the middle of the east coast and we draw people from everywhere. There are plenty of crazies but that is anywhere you go. We keep Greensboro clean and Green but they are building up everywhere. Plenty of jobs and Charlotte is just an hour drive south. Raleigh 45/50 minutes to the East and Asheville 2.5 hours to the West. The mountains and beach are 2 to 3 hours away.

One downside to living here is getting older... There is not much for the singles here unless you are young. The people like to hibernate in the winter too so it can get boring!
