Review of Smyrna, Delaware

Unsophisticated
Star Rating - 3/22/2018
Smyrna, like any town other than Newark, is very unsophisticated, boring, unfriendly, and uneducated. I've resided in many states and Delaware will be the state that I never miss. When I cross that bridge I will never look back. It offers NOTHING! It may have low property taxes but it has some of the highest utility rates in the nation. As a matter of fact, in most cases, you must buy your power from the towns in Delaware and the rates are astronomical. Everything here is owned by a monopoly. It speaks of having no sales tax but its own residents know NOTHING of its Gross Receipts Tax which is, in my opinion, worse than an exposed sales tax. It's the greatest deception perpetrated on an unwitting populace. Delaware has the worst beaches I've ever experienced. The water that washes up on the shores of the Delaware beaches comes from the mouth of the Delaware River. This is why the water is brown and silty as well as nearly vacant of the salt smell that I love in a resort area. See for yourself.

Smyrna is very up coming and no longer the boring town. It has many places you can go and eat, shopping and beautiful parks. People Smyrna are very nice, always open for conversation and willing to help. When working part time at one of the department store I fine to be very honest, customers would be shopping and sometimes loses their personal belongings such wallet, shopping begs or garments. Their items will be turn in by others customers that were shopping as well. Quite at night and very busy during the they Smyrna is a very beautiful town to live.
