Review of Smyrna, Delaware

Good, but could be better.

Smyrna is a small town with the small town feel. It is great place for retirees or someone who have lived here all their lives. You have to work in either Philly, Dover, or Wilmington to get a good job. The homes are nice, but a bit overpriced with the influx of people moving in from New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, Maryland and Virginia. The housing is cheap to those people moving here from other places like New York and New Jersey but it's a little bit too much for me. The schools are nice and rapidly growing. The teachers communicate with you whenever you have questions or concerns and I like that. They just started to expand the high school and some of the other schools around the area because of the new students moving in every year. The only bad part about Smyrna and Dover is that there isn't much to do. You have to travel to Philly, Baltimore, or DC to do anything. Personally I would like something in the area to do every once in a while. I like Smyrna for the schools and my job in Dover, but that's about it. Moving here from Louisiana was a challenge, but it was worth the time spent here. Overall the the area is nice and the people are friendly, but you got to get to know them. I think once my son finish school here, I will be moving on.

Unsophisticated
Smyrna, like any town other than Newark, is very unsophisticated, boring, unfriendly, and ...
