I used to live in Dall-ass and have been to Austin 6 times over the span of 10 years.
We recently reconsidered relocating to Austin. My sister graduated from UT, which turned her into a smug, liberal, know-it-all, yuppy-scum monster. We decided to pay her a visit, look at properties and consider relocating.
Many of you reviewers are spot on! Austin is a filthy, disgusting city filled with puke puddles from Congress right into 6th street. Lots of strung-out homeless. People dress slovenly. I've never seen so many men in flip flops! UGH!
Witnessed a man from my hotel room stumble drunk and vomiting out into the street. Airport was run down. Dirty, old looking buildings. Nothing was new or shiny. Giant frat town. Let's not forget INSANE property taxes. $15,000 on a $350k house? No thanks!
