Review of Sumter, South Carolina

About me: I lived in Sumter from birth to around 22 years old. I have since lived in many states, and currently reside in CO, and love it. I prefer towns smaller than Sumter, surrounded by abundant outdoor recreation. I am a successful and well-educated professional. I hold conservative and Judeo-Christian values. About Sumter: My father was not a native, but made the best of living in the area, especially as a sportsman. My childhood was filled with hunting and fishing, and an annual vacation at Myrtle Beach. However, I consider Sumter to be a wicked town, full of dishonest and lazy people. Nearly everyone attends church, but few should you trust (church attendance in CO is far lower but far more genuine). Any type of contracted work is typically shoddy. The attorneys particularly represent the most inept of their profession, and in my experience, the layman probate judge, who is perpetually re-elected, is blatantly corrupt and legally illiterate. (continued) "big hat, no cattle". The crime rates are nearly double that of the nation. In my youth, many of the public elementary school teachers hardly wrote at a level that they supposedly taught, particularly in District 2. I want to clarify that, as in any town, there are exceptional people, but I think that you could throw a dart towards a map and pick a better place to live.
