Review of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania

Small town feel with city convenience
Star Rating - 8/19/2007
I've resided in the area my entire life. We moved just outside the town limits several years ago. We actually wished we had picked a house in town sometimes. There are some great neighborhoods only a block or two off the main streets. Most streets are quiet with little traffic. There is a college in town, but it does not suffer many of the ills of a lot of college towns with rowdiness, noise or litter (like, say, Millersville). Though struggling slightly, the downtown area is maintaining a vibrance unlike many towns in the area. It's a short drive to Harrisburg or Lancaster via major highway for serious shopping or culture. Amtrak trains stop here, and bus service is available. Prefer to live in the country? It's truly minutes away in most any direction. Other than typical PA weather (humidity), and the occasional aroma of farms, there isn't much to dislike.
