As a a libertarian whose just moved from the Santa Clara / Bay Area, the climate here is a little more liberal then what I expected; though many Beavertonians voted for Ron Paul and there are quite a few conservative areas, in the western part of the city (cooper-mountain/Aloha), and other parts of the city as well. And of the conservatives that do exist in the area, they tend to resemble the ones found in inland california (fresno, modesto, sacromento) who are a bit more paleo, palin supporting, protectionists, and not of the coastal/oc variety (anahiem, laguna, newport beach, fullerton) who tend to be more hip, trendy, drives a prius, colleged educated, etc.
