We have lived here 3 times. We originally moved to Lynchburg in 1973, left for several remote assignments along the way, and are back for the third time - arriving 12 years ago. The place has really changed, and I have found it much more open. However, our newere residents often are moving from elsewhere - expecting Lynchburg to be a northern city - it ain't. Although I agree with the driving comments, I believe that is partly due to the retirees from other parts or the country - drawn by low costs and good reviews. Also due to younger people texting while behind the wheel. By the way, Alice, may I suggest the Newcomers club as a way to meet people here. It really helped my wife make new friends and find things to do.
