Review of Palestine, Texas

Highly Recommed!
Star Rating - 7/27/2009
We have lived in Palestine for more than two years and we love it. We bought an historic home needing repairs and upgrades. We are retired and are doing most of the work ourselves. We have found the people here to be quite friendly and there is a wonderful resource for information regarding the restoration of our home in the city's Historic Preservation Officer. There is an incredible amount of interesting history here and the public library is the best I have experienced in a town of this size. The librarian has made it an outstanding venue for cultural and social programs. The shopping here is definitly limited, but we find our needs are met and Tyler is less than an hour away and Dallas is less than two hours. We feel more at home here than any place we have lived during our married lives.
