E W is right. Each year is an adventure with the weather and I love it. Tehachapi is not exempt from difficult weather such as drought, etc. However, the average weather is much nicer than Antelope Valley and quite a bit nicer at night particularly than Simi Valley in Ventura County where I come from. I can't stand to be hot at night and over 10 years I've found that Tehachapi always cools down enough at night that I can run a fan (only needed on the hottest days a few times a year) and be quite comfortable. No need to run A/C all night long just to sleep. I live in Stallion Springs and just love that everyone waves. They don't need to know you to welcome you to town. Definitely several steps up from City living. Only wish I moved there sooner!
