Review of Beaver, Utah

Not recommended for anyone under 50 years old

I lived in Beaver for about 3 years several years ago. First and foremost, it is over 50 miles to the nearest Walmart or shopping center of any kind other than the local grocery store and very few downtown stores (ie: local variety store and pawn shop). If this doesn't bother you, the quality of the people might. If you are an adult, with no children, who works in one of the FEW respectable companies in town, such as the local hospital, then you might like it here. But for the younger crowd, or those in the lower end careers, I wouldn't suggest it. There is a huge drug problem in Beaver, though it is unknown to many people, depending on where you live and work. The quality of the people who live there is very low imo, so be prepared to be lied to and stabbed in the back. If you do not associate with people who work in the local restaurants, truck stops, etc then you might be okay. The nearby towns are equally bad, with the exception of the small farming communities nearby that are unincorporated, this seems to be where the nice people live. There is a large number of Mormons in Beaver, so you either befriend the very nice Mormon who may attempt to convert you or the druggie who will steal your things and lie to you. The only exceptions are older people who have lived there for decades and have no idea what really goes on in town. It COULD be a nice place for a much older person who keeps to themselves, like I said before, but other than that, stay far away!!!
