Review of Hillsborough, New Jersey

housing and construction
Star Rating - 10/28/2008
New housing is not at a stand still, and in Hillsborough new homes are still selling! Although things are tight in the housing market there are still houses being bought and sold. Basic selling tricks are, no clutter and clean up when you show your home. Check with the construction office if you have any outstanding or unfinished building permits.

As a Construction Sub-code Official, I recommend that you check on any contractor who works in your home to avoid any problems later on.
Ask for a License number and for a Legitimate certificate of Insurance.
N.J. law requires only a 10% deposit on any work ! Do Not hand over
1/2 the amount of a contract price. Call consumer Affairs if you are in doubt.
