Mike... I am a British Black Female... after reading ALL the comments and reviews you said.... BRAVO Ole Chap ;o) enough said -- well versed, articulated and very much educated. I am so glad you made it ALL plain, clear, real, honest and easy to understand Charlotte, NC -- I definately WILL NOT be relocating. You're the best in all your EDUCATED comments! 5 thumbs up to you instead of the one I was only allowed to give. I presently live in Atlanta, GA for the past 4years and I totally hate it and thought maybe Charlotte my offer something a little more welcoming -- I am SO DONE with anything that relates to the SOUTH it will be my pleasure to run from here like Forrest Gump 'Run Forrest, Run...' and NEVER LQQK back to anything Southern. The South to me especially Atlanta, GA is WAY OVER-RATED and still stuck in the dark ages of that slave mentality - stuffed with alot of ignorance and the lack thereof. Absolutely incredible especially in this day and age moving into 2011 -- so sad, so sad. I don't have 20-50 years to wait for the South to catch up on real time, but it is what it is and I'll take my wealth fortune elsewhere, but trust me it definately will not be the South. I am a northerner, but educated in the South. I had comptemplated relocating the Charlotte but I'm a bit shocked at the "stay where you are attitude." As a northern Black Female we are treated as if we don't measure up to what is meant by southern charm, however; we are smart, courageous and can manage in the face of adversity. I think maybe you should adjust your attitude about us northerners, times have changes, but doesn't look like you guys are willing to.

Wow Mike, you know all about us 'northerner's'.....From everything you said I conclude everyone north and south has you figured out. There is still a good ol boy society within Charlotte and you being a part of it. 1st hint comes from your comment, and I will quote: "If you are a 'Northerner' then do not complain about how you are treated by the native Charlottians. The alleged attitude comes from generations of 'Northerners' insulting our culture and using off color remarks while doing so. Don't take it personal, we simply do not trust Northerners until they have proven themselves to assimilate into our culture. Do not forget that MOST families in the south are generational. This means if you insult one family member, it will not soon be forgotten". Firstly Mike, I don't have to prove anything to you or anyone for that matter about my personality, you either like it or you don't and I won't lose sleep if your choice is the later! Second, 'I' have to get used to 'YOUR' culture and how you do things? No, I don't. You can do whatever you want so long as it don't affect me and I will likewise but I found it hard to mind my own in the past because of people like you who hear my voice and recognize it from being of the north just have to run off with the mouths. All I ever heard when I was visiting or just passing through was 'damn Yankee, redneck, New Hampster? where's New Hampster? Ive been insulted by you and Ive never initiated it. Yes, I am a northerner and have lived in other US cities as well, starting with Chicago, NY, Atlanta, Tampa, San Diego, Louisville and Boston. Bet your thinking now "this guy's black"....................WRONG, I'm white. You can live however you want but before you make comments about any person and their regions, try to think before you speak. Nobody insults Charlottians from the north, Charlottians who share the same attitude as you do it to yourselves.....You don't need any help from the people up north. OOPS, did I just insult your entire family?..........Again, I think you do it just fine all by yourself! No, I wont choose Charlotte as a destination point, still a lot of bigotry...

All I have to say is...why did ya go to Houston? Who ar you kidding? You went because this area is a draw-back to slavery times! You could not get ahead, could you? I don't care if you are Black...or White...if you don't have "MONEY" in this city...you are out. So going to Houston...to MAKE MONEY...before returning was the only way YOU would get a foot-hold in Charlotte! It has nothing to do with being from the NORTH! It has everything with being lower to middle class in this place. The Blacks you say you see on the news...they know....Like myself....I left Charlotte and lived somewhere else for years, guess what?....I came back to the same racist, bible-thumping...elitist city. You sound like you've become one of the latter, a elitist-type! Good job with assimilating to the Charlote culture!
