For anyone else reading these, Mr. Steve from Beverly Hills, CA couldn't be farther from the truth. It's exactly the opposite of his description, except for housing is too high. But to bash, call names and be abusive of what the way of life here.... well that is wrong. We have the most beautiful lakes and sunsets will rival any beach! We cannot control the weather, obviously, but the things described are few and far in between. We have all 4 seasons here, including snow and ice! We have the amenities of larger cities with a small town feel. The outlying schools (Rogersville, Ozark, Nixa, Republic) are excellent schools too. Crime has risen in Springfield, but hopefully that will get better.With Branson close by and Springfield being a college town, southwest Missouri is a good option for families to move to.
