Hi, I was wondering if anyone who lives in/is familiar with Chico could give me some suggestions for safe areas of the town to rent an apartment. By safe I mean: Safe for a woman for walking/running without being harassed/mugged/... or no burglaries of your place. could you please give me some safe street/neighborhood names. How is downtown or areas close to CSU? Thank you.

I do not rent but have watched things deteriorate. So north chico seems to have well lighted parking areas and very close by open park for apartment dwellers. Close to college is probably not what you are wanting. Buddy system and pepper spray a good idea in the park.
