Random and domestic violence in Huntsville

Generally speaking I find the crime rate in the Huntsville area to be outrageous for the number of people that live here... I would also like to add that I am a Southerner but it appears the domestic violence in Alabama is out of control as well.. there seems to be much domestic violence and killings instead of choosing to divorce.. Huntsville is a transient city because of NASA and Redstone Arsonel but the local residents are quite backward in general, if it were not for the transplants this would be a one horse city... the crime rate here is what is hurting this city... too bad as it is a nice place other than that..

My wife and I are transplants from the Northeast, and love the area and the people. Huntsville Utilities is very affordable: especially since living our entire lives up north. The property taxes are unbelievably low. The only somewhat costly utility is Harvest Monrovia Water. They pave the main roads regularly, and it's in close proximity to Huntsville, Birmingham and Nashville. A great place to live and retire!
