The things stated here are very true, and it is also quite a mixed bag of stuff and has a pretty good amount of diversity. There's also this vibe (and sort of unofficial slogan) of it's "the land of mañana (tomorrow)" where things get put off till the next day, and then ahhh oh well missed it that day, but meh how about tomorrow and just relax a bit longer for now ("why stress?"), and then tomorrow...
It's a sanctuary city, and it's starting to really show by the rapidly increasing problems.
I've lived just a little outside the city my whole life, and there's a lot of wonderful things here you don't find in a lot of places, including an interesting landscape and really nice mountains and hills (the official slogan "Land of Enchantment" is true in many ways), but pretty glaring problems oddly blended with some kind of stability.
