Review of Rockport, Texas

Family-friendly Rockport
Star Rating - 7/6/2015
Get away from the noisy, crowded beaches of the north Gulf Coast and come to Rockport! The small, seaside arts community is friendly and affordable, with one of the top 15 beaches in the country. Fishing, boating, birding, whooping crane and dolphin tours conveniently nearby. Family atmosphere and a quiet place to retire. The best-kept secret in So. Texas!

I didn't experience the "friendly" folks you reference. Instead, I encountered several rude, burned out clerks. The drivers are even worse. The first day I was here, a red neck in Texas- sized pickup almost rammed me from the rear resulting in a road rage incident. He challenged me to a fight. The next day, same thing only this time, it was two old farts with wheel-chair licensed plate. What's the friggin hurry? Even the Executive Office of the Rockport Chamber of Commerce was rude when I approached her.
