don't think that it stinks...I think that the job market is really competitive though. I moved here from Raleigh, NC and groceries, food, taxes are comparable. Some food items and state income tax are lower. Not as many homeowners association, so that helps. I haven't experienced water shortages as Colorado has seen above average snowfall since 2006. I work in Interlocken for a national company and am fortunate to receive California pay, but that probably won't last forever. Traffic for me living in Broomfield for commute is awesome. Good grief, thinking of Broomfield as not safe. Go visit the southeast. Maybe Denver has more problems, I've even heard that Boulder has problems with transients, but Broomfield is basically just suburbia, Interlocken and the mall. Also, you can get to great hiking near boulder in 20-30 minutes where your dogs can walk off leash. You can go to Eldora hiking areas in 45. RMNP is 1+, skiing at Winter Park/Breck is possible in under 2 hours - but if you go on the weekends, you have to leave at 5 am or suffer on I-70. I don't know I was bored out of my mind in NC. I lived in Asheville, Charlotte area, Chapel Hill and Raleigh. Chapel Hill was my favorite - it is a lot like Boulder. I like Broomfield though - I couldn't justify the Boulder home prices. $400k for a shack?
