1. "My husband and I have been living in Hot Springs Village for over 10 years and absolutely love it. The natural surroundings are breathtaking and there's always something to do. We especially enjoy playing golf on the beautiful courses. It's a tight-knit community and we've made many great friends here." - SaraJones
2. "Hot Springs Village may seem like a dream retirement destination, but the reality is far from it. The cost of living is extremely high and there's not much to do here except play golf. Also, there's a lack of diversity and it feels like everyone is from the same background." - JohnSmith72
3. "I recently moved to Hot Springs Village and have been pleasantly surprised by how welcoming the community is. The residents here are friendly and there are plenty of social events to attend. The only downside is that the nearest city is over an hour away, so it can feel a bit isolated at times." - MarySmith789
4. "I've lived in Hot Springs Village for almost 30 years and have seen it go downhill. The roads and infrastructure are in dire need of repairs and there's a constant battle between residents and the POA. I would not recommend this place to anyone." - TomJohnson55

Not perfect, but very close - 10/31/2022
We bought a lot in 1991, finally got to move here in 2014. We bought an existing house, but still have our lot. HSV is a great place to live, especially as a retiree. We live on a ridge with a great view to the south (east and west), love our privacy, the beauty of this place, our neighbors, our friends, and the overall atmosphere.
Note: the "disagree" numbers are from trolls who resent those of us who moved here from other states. The one negative voter should have followed up because Twiggs has been gone for quite a while and we have some great leadership in place with our POA employees and our POA board. Is everything perfect?? Of course not, but it's a far better place than just about anywhere else, and we've lived on both coasts, and several states in between over the last 60 years. My only complaint now is we are growing too fast (I'm selfish and don't want to share) but we have good people in place to deal with our growth and have a very good plan for the future.

Happy then—-happy now! - 5/8/2020
I feel I have a unique review of Hot Springs Village. We lived here 1994-2001 when our kids were in school. It was a very good experience at that time. Our kids went to Jessieville School of which we had no complaints. We felt safe enough to allow our kids to ride their bikes together and also go to the recreation center to play with their friends or swim in the public pool. We frequently took the kids to the lake beaches in the summer and boated on Lake Ouachita and Lakes Cortez and Balboa. We moved in 2001–back to Iowa for five years and then San Antonio, TX for 12 years. My husband retired a few years ago so we had been searching places to retire not wanting to stay in San Antonio due to the traffic and unrelenting heat. We couldn’t find a place that seemed better than Hot Springs Village considering housing costs etc. Sooo—we moved back to HSV four months ago and have no regrets! Our oldest son and family still live here so we do have family here. We are so much more physically

Full time resort-style living - 11/26/2019
We moved to HSV from Sun City Center FL because of the temperate climate, access to 8 pristine golf courses, clean drinking water, beautiful lakes for swimming, kayaking, boating and fishing, nature trails, tennis, pickle ball, bocce, lawn bowling, huge gym with indoor pool, new resort pool in progress, active duplicate bridge and card club. The residents are active and friendly. Medical and shopping are convenient. Streets and neighborhoods are very well maintained. We’d have moved here years ago, had we known it existed. Currently some residents are upset about the politics, but we have no

Hot Springs Village-Don't live here! - 10/22/2014
Property Owners Association-Most political, tyrinical dictatorship (David Twiggs, Director) in the nation.
To begin, we are a village of 13, 400 residents. Mr. Twiggs was give a starting salary of $204,000 plus benefits, highest in the United States. he rules w/an iron fist and has many, many "closed door meetings" and does not inform residents. We are in the dark.
I have lived here for several years. It once was a great place to live and a very open forum for information-not any longer. Mr. twiggs has emphasized more than once that "I am the boss of everyone. I will make final decisions on all employment!!" In other s board, you better go along w/me.
We now face a 72% increase in assessment dues, as Mr. twiggs states he has need for the monies. When asked, he is very vague. Has made it clear that the "Freedom of Information Act" does not adhere to HSV as we are not governmentally funded.
We have had 2 murder cases in the past 14
